Ford releases pix of Mustang-inspired electric crossover shredding in the snow

The new photos and video show the prototype undergoing winter testing at the Smithers Winter Test Facility, where the battery was put through its paces at temperatures down to -40° F. The crossover is expected to have a range of 300 miles, and is being billed as a competitor for Tesla’s Model Y.

There were few surprises at the delivery event, but there was an impressive video of a loaded Semi handily passing a diesel truck at a 6% incline on the Donner Pass. The other two motors deliver maximum torque when accelerating, which Tesla says will create a far smoother driving experience than the jerky judder of a legacy Class 8 truck.
