Nearly half of all businesses (46%) across the UK have ‘recycling food waste’ at the top of their priorities to reduce their organisation’s carbon footprint, according to new research. It would be great to see the same achievements in England as we have seen in Scotland.

Household plastic packaging collection drops for first time, says RECOUP

Plastic packaging use and plastic packaging collection quantities have dropped for the first time in RECOUP’s annual UK Household Plastic Packaging Collection Survey. The UK’s overall recycling rate for plastic packaging from household and commercial sources is 52%. Both have reduced by around 5%.

They will fund Clean Planet Energy’s flagship ecoPlant currently under construction in Teesside, north east England. Each new ecoPlant will be able to process hard-to-recycle plastics in the UK.

Of this, more than 25% was sent to Turkey, 25,000 tonnes more than in 2022.
