SunPower will eliminate between 145 and 160 jobs, representing about 3 percent of its global team, in the next 12 to 18 months, according to a Monday filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The layoffs — part of a restructuring plan — come after California-based SunPower announced in November that it would spin off most of its manufacturing operations to form Maxeon Solar Technologies, based in Singapore.

Rivian , an automaker that revealed its prototype electric pickup and SUV in November 2018, has raised $1.3 billion in a recent funding round led by T. Rowe Price Associates. Amazon and Ford also participated in the funding round. Designed as all-terrain EVs, Rivian’s launch products, the R1T pickup and R1S SUV, are notable for their “skateboard” chassis, which include electric motors, batteries, controls, and suspension.

Electrify America will install 40 charging stations with a total of 140 chargers, at Bank of America financial centers in California, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Oregon, Washington, Virginia, and Massachusetts. The chargers will offer power levels ranging from 150 kW to 350 kW. The new stations are expected to be operational by the end of 2020. More intense and longer duration wildfires have ravaged countries all around the world. The thread that weaves all these wildfires together is global warming and the catalyst is heat , the harbinger of fire. Extreme heat exacerbates wildfires making this the new abnormal. Warmer temperatures dry out vegetation which fuels the fires, less precipitation and dry winds also play a role.
