First electron beam welding of wind turbine monopile achieves “dramatic results”

The first foundation is installed at Dogger Bank Wind Farm. Marking a seemingly important advance in wind turbine fabrication, a group of firms has announced the first ever incorporation of an electron-beam-welded section in an offshore wind turbine monopile foundation (transition piece). The resulting monopile is set for installation in the second phase of Dogger Bank Wind Farm, which is located more than 130km off the Northeast coast of England.

Volkswagen and Powerco SE to build their largest cell factory in Canada
