Throughout my childhood, I was fortunate enough to have ample opportunity to explore some of our planet’s most beautiful natural wonders — from hikes within the Shenandoah National Park to coral reefs along Florida’s coasts, to the creek right in my backyard in Northern Virginia. I have always felt the most at home outdoors, so when I learned about how climate change poses a threat to the existence of these places, my heart ached tremendously.

On June 12, Target corporation said it was increasing its renewable energy goals by committing to source 100 percent of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030. The goal applies to all of Target’s domestic operations.

Statkraft announces it has decided to start construction of the 51.6-MW Los Lagos hydropower plant in Chile. The construction is planned to commence in August and completion is scheduled for second half of 2022.

Cleantech San Diego member company Oberon Fuels , a producer of clean-burning dimethyl ether (DME) transportation fuel, has been awarded a grant for $2,876,139 from the California Energy Commission (CEC) for a first-of-its-kind, multi-phase project to produce the first renewable dimethyl ether (rDME), a clean-burning, ultra-low-carbon transportation fuel, in the U.S.

Natron Energy said that the California Energy Commission (CEC) awarded it a $3 million grant for “Advanced Energy Storage for Electric Vehicle Charging Support.” Natron will use the money to manufacture and install a high powered, long cycle life energy storage system at an EV Fast Charging station.

In an announcement that was celebrated by the solar industry, yesterday U.S. trade officials said that bi-facial solar modules, which are solar modules that produce energy on both sides of the panel, would be exempt from import tariffs.
