But environmental health experts have specifically called into question the EPA’s proposal to raise acceptable levels of benzo(a)pyrene, or BaP, and similar compounds in the Superfund’s sediment. The EPA has advised people to limit their consumption of seafood from the lower five miles of the river due to high contaminant concentrations.
