UPNA team produces geothermal power in Antarctica with thermoelectric tech

A group of researchers from the Smart Cities Institute (ISC) of the Public University of Navarra (UPNA) in Pamplona, Spain has successfully deployed thermoelectric generators to produce power from geothermal heat in Antarctica. Thermoelectric generators are solid-state devices with no moving parts such as pumps or fans.

Qingshui geothermal power plant, Taiwan hits 38m-kWh milestone

The operators of the Qingshui geothermal power plant in Yilan County, Taiwan, have announced that the project has now produced more than 38 million kWh of electricity as of the end of July 2023 since i ts opening in October 2021. The reservoir temperature is around 180 degrees Celsius at a depth from 1,200 to 2,100 meters.
