In this blog I aim to figure out how much longer will we still have Arctic sea ice. With the minimum reached, the remaining sea ice that survives the year has had its birthday, aging one year. In September 2020 the extent of the oldest ice (4+ years old) was 230,000 square kilometers, slightly more than 5% of total sea ice.
