The group, which is the beef industry’s largest trade association, plastered the New York Times (including its popular podcast The Daily ) and the Washington Post with climate-conscious food messaging. Beginning in 2006, the Pork Checkoff paid NPPC each year for the license to this slogan — even though the slogan was retired in 2011.
