This is inherently wasteful and it comes with a price tag of emissions. This presents a massive decarbonization opportunity, one reason why geothermal heating and cooling is growing and will continue to grow rapidly. As one example, we are working on developing green hydrogen or green ammonia using geothermal-powered electrolyzers.
