Oil and gas has dominated discussions at past COPs, which have focused on the need to cut greenhouse gas emissions from the energy and transport sectors to tackle dangerous levels of global warming. Analysis by DeSmog last year found that of roughly 300 partners, just seven percent were based in Africa.
