PowerFlex’s patented technology has been tested by NREL and is operating EV charging stations at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, the Los Altos School District in California and NREL’s National Wind Technology Center in Colorado, among other sites. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

SCEIN is an incubator program for clean energy startups based in San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Imperial counties that are developing technologies to help California meet its clean energy goals. Cleantech San Diego launched the SCEIN program in 2016 after winning a grant from the California Energy Commission.
