The reserve is home to a vast array of rare and critically endangered animal species, including pangolins, sun bears, and - perhaps most famously - the Sumatran Tiger, of which there are less than 400 left in the wild. Today, it is home to around 150,000 people, with the mill itself directly employing almost 6,000.
