To this day, a book published in 2001 and co-written by Cole with Georgetown law professor Sheila Foster titled, From the Ground Up , is considered a treatise for the type of environmental justice work he practiced and taught. Around the same time, Cole noticed someone going through the papers in his recycling bin outside his home.
