Abstract submission and registration is open for the European Geothermal Workshop 2023 taking place on November 8-9 in Utrecht University, Netherlands.

The European Geothermal Workshop 2023 will be held on November 8-9, 2023 at the Utrecht University campus in the Netherlands. The conference will be done in-person this year, the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Interested participants should take note of the following dates:

MSc and PhD students can register for the conference for free.

The conference will take place over 2 days of plenary and parallel sessions with oral and poster presentations. The topics covered in the conference will be as follows:

  • Assessment of Geothermal Resources
  • Exploration of Geothermal Reservoirs
  • Engineering of Geothermal wells and Resources
  • Energy Conversion Systems
  • Operation of Geothermal Systems
  • Sustainability, Environment and Regulatory Framework
  • Computing and Data Management, Machine Learning

The EGW is organized bi-yearly in different countries by members of the EERA Joint Program of Geothermal Energy. This will be the first time for Utrecht to host the event after Karlsruhe and Strasbourg in the recent years.

As a side event before the EGW, there will be an EERA workshop with panel discussion on the topic of applications for industrial thermal energy storage, with geothermal storage also being an option.
