Registration is now open for a webinar that takes a deep dive into the Pathways to Commercial Liftoff report for Next-Generation Geothermal by the US DOE.

The U.S. Department of Energy will be hosting the “DOE’s Pathways to Commercial Liftoff: Next-Generation Geothermal Power Webinar” on the 12th of April 2024 from 2:00-3:00 pm ET.

Registration for the webinar is currently open. Click here to register.

The webinar will take a deep dive into the Next-Generation Geothermal Power Pathways to Commercial Liftoff report which was published less than a month ago during CERAWeek in Houston, Texas.

The report shows how next-generation geothermal technology can increase the United States’ geothermal energy production to 90 GW or more by 2050 – a twentyfold increase. The Liftoff report also supports the goals of the DOE’s Enhanced Geothermal Shot which aims to reduce the cost of Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) by 90%  to $45 per MWh by 2035.

The Pathways to Commercial Liftoff Reports are the product of comprehensive stakeholder engagement, combining system-level modeling with project-level financial analysis. These reports offer valuable insights, identifying key themes and interactions among various grid technologies. While they do not represent official DOE policy or strategic plans, they serve as crucial resources for decision-makers in the energy sector, investors, and a broader range of stakeholders.
