Registration is currently open for the GeothermiX Conference, taking place on 29 November to 1 December 2023 in University of Pisa, Italy.

Registration is currently open for GeothermiX, the first transdisciplinary conference about geothermal energy organized by PhD students. The event will be held in the University of Pisa in Italy from November 29 to December 1, 2023. ThinkGeoEnergy is a proud media partner of the event.

The registration period closes on 30 September 2023. Registration can be done via this online form.

Registration for GeothermiX remains free. The conference can also be followed online. Registration will be confirmed only after the registration period closure.

In case the number of registrations exceeds the number of people permitted, the organizing team reserves the right to select the registrations. For the field trip to the Larderello geothermal power plant, the place will be reserved only when your documentation will be received and accepted. Information for this day is available on the field trip webpage section.

GeothermiX has been organised with the aim to unite people from different branches of geology and environmental science to talk about geothermics. The main topics will regard the way it can be studied, starting from the heat source, its origin, the reservoir and the water source involved. Topics on the impact of geothermal projects on the surrounding systems, and how georesources are presented and seen in society will also be discussed.

The sessions planned for the oral presentations are as follows:

  • S1 – Application of structural geology in geothermal systems
  • S2 – Geochemistry applied to geothermal systems
  • S3 – Geophysical methods applied to geothermal systems
  • S4 – Monitoring, modeling, and impacts assessment
  • S5 – Didactic and dissemination of georesources
