New Mexico is a region considered rich with geothermal potential, with development so far including Lightning Dock geothermal power plant in Hidalgo County and a significant number of geothermal-heated greenhouses and spas. Looking to further harness this potential, there have been efforts to enact legislation that will provide grants for new geothermal projects in New Mexico.
