The IGA has appointed Helen Robinson as Regional Manager for Africa, reinforcing the commitment to fostering the progress of Africa's geothermal sector.

The International Geothermal Association (IGA) has announced the appointment of Helen Robinson as the Regional Manager for Africa in what is considered a milestone in the IGA’s commitment to fostering geothermal energy in Africa.

Helen is a seasoned Hydrogeologist with extensive experience, particularly in the African region. Her profound understanding of geological systems and sustainable development enhances her capability to propel the geothermal initiatives of the IGA. Helen’s background in both the technical and managerial aspects of geothermal energy makes her an invaluable asset to the IGA and the broader geothermal community.

Helen will primarily focus on organizing and overseeing the IGA’s upcoming events in Kenya and Tanzania in 2024 and beyond, alongside the association’s regional partners. She will also be responsible for designing and enabling training activities aimed at enhancing the skills of professionals in the geothermal sector.

Furthermore, Helen will actively seek out funding opportunities to facilitate the growth of geothermal projects and research across Africa, aligning the IGA even more closely with the mission of a sustainable energy future for all.

Under Helen’s expert guidance, the IGA is confident that geothermal energy in Africa will reach new pinnacles.

We at ThinkGeoEnergy would like to extend our congratulations to Helen and the IGA for this new development. Helen can be reached via helen@geothermal-energy.org.
