The webinar will provide an overview of geothermal activities and the position of geothermal across the African continent, with a particular focus on the role of geothermal in decarbonizing heating and cooling.
The speaker for the upcoming webinar will be Helen Robinson, Regional Manager for Africa of the International Geothermal Association (IGA). She has a technical background as a hydrogeologist and has worked on many geothermal, mining, and WASH projects around the world. Most of her work has focussed on geothermal across Africa, much of which has been undertaken in the field and on sites for over 10 years. This has enabled her to better understand the environmental and social challenges, and greater need for policy, legislation, and regulatory framework across the continent.
