The Indonesian Government has announced a tender for the 46-MW Nage geothermal working in Flores Island, with the deadline on the 31st of May.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia has announced the opening of the auction for the Nage Geothermal Working Area (GWA) located in the Ngada Regency in East Nusa Tenggara. Interested participants need to submit the registration form along with the required registration documents before the 31st of May 2024 at 12:00 PM Jakarta time.

The bidding process is open to experienced business entities or consortiums with proven track record in geothermal, upstream oil and gas, minerals/coal mining, or electricity generation. The documents needed to apply include the following:

  • Copy of the deed of establishment of the business entity, including the latest amendment deed related to changes in the board of directors and changes in shareholders;
  • Company profile, including consortium members if the auction participant is a consortium;
  • Copy of the Business Identification Number (Nomor Induk Berusaha/NIB);
  • Integrity Pact of Business Entity or Consortium in the attached format;
  • Declaration of not being under court supervision, not bankrupt, not under suspension, and/or not currently undergoing criminal sanctions; and
  • Proof of the bid bond guarantee (IDR 1,000,000,000).

The registration may be represented by appropriate-official delegate by providing identification and Letter of Attorney from President Director/Business entities Leader (for the consortium delegate, shall provide the identification and Letter of Attorney from President Director/Business entities Leader stating the agreement to represent the consortium).

Information on the resource area

The Nage GWA has undergone extensive exploration by the Indonesian Government through geoscience surveys and two slim-hole wells, indicating a promising reservoir reaching temperatures of 284 °C. The area encompasses 10,410 hectares of diverse land use. This includes Production Forest, Convertible Production Forest, and Other Utilization Areas, ensuring responsible development practices. There is no area of Conservation Forest within the GWA.

Nage boasts of a geothermal reserve of 46 MWe, with a target to reach the development capacity of 40 MW using total project scheme.
