Tuzla Geothermal has applied for the drilling of two geothermal boreholes in the Ayvacik District of Çanakkale, Türkiye just outside of Tuzla District.

Tuzla Geothermal Energy Inc. (Tuzla Geothermal) has applied for the drilling of two wells within the geothermal exploration license IR:17/25 in the Ayvacik District of Çanakkale, Türkiye  covering a 2905-hectare area. The two wells will be drilled to a depth of around 1500 meters.

The EIA process for the project has already started, from which the two drilling locations were identified. The application for drilling has now been submitted to the Governorship of Çanakkale. The total project cost is calculated to be TL 11.25 million (approx. USD 423,800).

Once drilling has been completed, well test operations will be carried out for a total of 6 hours. During the test operations, hydrogeological, geochemistry, and geophysical measurements will be made. This information will then help in decide whether the geothermal resource is appropriate for the purpose of generating electricity.

Egenda Ege Enerji Üretim A.S. has a 100% share of Tuzla Geothermal Energy Production Inc. The Tuzla Geothermal Power Plant, located in Tuzla, within the borders of Ayvacik district of Çanakkale province, has an installed power of 7.5 MWe and an annual average energy production capacity of 56,070 MWh.
