Goktekin Energy via Goktekin Tarim is planning to drill seven wells as part of a geothermal exploration campaign in Afyonkarahisar, Türkiye.

Goktekin Tarim A.S., one of Goktekin Energy companies, is planning a geothermal resource exploration project with drilling in the Sandikli and Kiziloren districts of the  Afyonkarahisar Province in Türkiye.

Within the scope of the project, seven drilling areas have been determined and the planned drilling depths are 800 meters. In the drilling activities, subsequent drilling will not be started until one drilling is completed. It is estimated that each drilling activity will be completed in 2 months. The total cost of the project is calculated as TL 8.142 million (approx. USD 268,800).

Geological and geophysical studies carried out in the licensed area have been evaluated, resulting in the identification of seven locations for geothermal exploration and/or production drilling. The end-use for the thermal waters  (greenhouse cultivation, heating, etc.) will be decided based on the physical properties of the water to be extracted after the positive results of the geothermal resource exploration activities.

Goktekin Energy is an engineering company established in 2015 to provide EPC services in the field of sustainable energy. It carries out projects and investments on wind and biomass power plants, especially industrial-scale solar power plants throughout Türkiye.

Afyonkarahisar is a region rich with geothermal resources. The province currently contributes 2.76 MW of installed geothermal power capacity and has what is described as Türkiye’s most modern greenhouse heated with geothermal.
