ThinkGeoEnergy and the Geothermal Association of Kenya have formed a media partnership to support the Kenya Geothermal Congress and the wider geothermal sector.

ThinkGeoEnergy and the Geothermal Association of Kenya (“GAK”) are proud to announce a media partnership for the 2024 Kenya Geothermal Congress, taking place on 16-18 July 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya.

This partnership aims to highlight the KGC 2024 as the premiere geothermal event in Kenya, East Africa, and the African Region, highlighting the important role that Kenya has played in the global geothermal sector, as well as the opportunities for further growth.

Over the coming months, GAK and ThinkGeoEnergy will work together to put the spotlight on Kenya as one of the best emerging markets for geothermal, both for power generation and direct-use utilization. These efforts will culminate in the on-site presence of ThinkGeoEnergy at the KGC 2024, giving the geothermal event the global platform that it deserves.

Carlo Cariaga, Editor-in-Chief, ThinkGeoEnergy: “We have always been very supportive of the geothermal sector in Kenya and have believed that the country is well-positioned to be a major player in this sector. This partnership with GAK is an excellent way for us to continue to show this support. We intend to use our global news and media platform to highlight the work of the geothermal developers, operators, researchers, service providers, and non-profit organizations in Kenya.”

Dr. Gathuru Mburu, Chairman of Kenya Geothermal Congress 2024 (KGC), remarked, “The partnership between ThinkGeoEnergy and the Geothermal Association of Kenya for the 2024 Kenya Geothermal Congress signifies a pivotal moment in our collective efforts to propel Kenya’s geothermal sector onto the global stage. Through collaboration and shared commitment, we aim to showcase Kenya’s leadership in geothermal energy and foster meaningful connections that will drive sustainable growth in the region.”

Both the GAK and ThinkGeoEnergy are proud to be a part of a global movement that advocates for and supports geothermal development. KGC 2024 provides an excellent opportunity to connect the stakeholders of the geothermal sector in Kenya with a wider global audience, creating relationships, and fostering collaborations. The partnership between GAK and ThinkGeoEnergy further reinforces the two parties’ belief that collaboration is key to accelerating geothermal deployment globally.
