For they announced having delivered the first three vehicles to UniFirst. All as part of an initial rollout. Yes folks, I mean they were purchased and delivered.
All to the big workwear and textile service company. These three vehicles will be delivered to UniFirst’s Southern California location. I heard this one is located in Santa Fe Springs.
Headquartered in Wilmington, Mass., UniFirst Corporation (NYSE: UNF) is a North American leader. All in the supply and servicing of uniform and workwear programs. That’s as well as the delivery of facility service programs.
Together with its subsidiaries, the company also provides first aid and safety products. Finally it manages specialized garment programs. All for the cleanroom. Oh and also nuclear industries.
In addition, UniFirst manufactures its own branded workwear. Also protective clothing and floorcare products. Combined and with 260 service locations. Most interestingly and over 300,000 customer locations. Finally and 14,000 employee Team Partners.
Look folks, I mean the company outfits more than 2 million workers. That’s each business day.
All to be used for customer delivery routes in the region.

Most importantly to transitioning our fleet. All from diesel to electric vehicles. That’s because it is so important to us. We know that the vehicles from Xos will help us reduce. All on our overall emission output.”

Xos vehicles and fleet management software are purpose-built. All for medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles. Those that travel on the “last-mile”. I mean back-to-base routes of 200 miles or less per day.
The company leverages its proprietary technologies. All to provide commercial fleets with zero-emission vehicles. Those that are easier to maintain and are more cost-efficient on a total cost of ownership (TCO) basis. Especially compared to their internal combustion engine counterparts.
For their X-Platform is a modular battery powertrain and chassis system. All designed to be customized for each vehicle. Thereby enabling maximum flexibility of applications.
Xos recently shifted headquarters from North Hollywood. All to a new location. For that’s on the border of Los Angeles and Glendale. Thereby rehabbing a former movie poster factory. In addition to offices, the 80,000-square-foot space also houses the R&D team. Also the prototype and pilot production facilities. I mean and for now, its battery-pack production line.
Over time, higher-volume production of its proprietary battery modules. Those made with LG Chem cells. For then it will shift to locations nearer where its trucks are built. That was said by Dag Reckhorn. Dag is the vice president of manufacturing.
XOS builds its batteries from scratch. Also the engineers use their own software. Finally they use their own vehicle controls.
Most interestingly, it’s opposed to liquid cooling of their batteries. That’s because the batteries use an air-cooling system. All better suited for commercial truck applications.
For it’s also allowing for a safer battery to build. Also one that’s more energy dense. Energy dense I mean a bigger battery. Also and more importantly a less expensive battery. One that isn’t designed to fit in the tight space of a passenger car.
Growth
In addition, the Xos vehicles heading to Santa Fe Springs, California. For they are the first out of several. All that will be delivered to many UniFirst locations. I mean their intent is to launched these vehicles all across the United States. They expect to then in the second half of 2022 deliver more. That’s to a UniFirst location in Boston, Massachusetts.
