If you are buying carbon off-sets from a forest and it burns, what is the legal impact on your company of that fire?

Is it defined?

Is it consistent globally?

Does it impact prior years?

-no agenda here, purely looking for answers after 3 or 4 hours of reading on the internet, without finding any firm answers only many conflicting documents.

That is a very good question.  I would not know how to answer that without the consultation of a group of lawyers. The entire issue surrounding carbon offsets and their handling is very murky.
