Xos, Inc (NASDAQ: XOS) is a leading electric vehicle manufacturer. That’s of fully electric Class 5 to Class 8 commercial vehicles. For back in December, they announced a strategic partnership. All with Merchants Fleet. For Merchants is the nation’s fastest growing fleet management company.

So I have learned, this partnership enables Merchants Fleet to expand its offering of electric fleet vehicles. Most importantly with an intent to buy EV step vans from Xos, Inc. The first 10 step vans are expected to be delivered to Merchants Fleet in 2022.

Electric XOS Step Van

As of late, I have learned a lot about the electric Xos step van. For they are designed to accommodate an extensive variety of medium-duty bodies. Thereby making it an ideal solution. Especially for Merchants’ extensive portfolio. For these vehicles are known as last mile delivery clients. All located throughout North America.

Committed to Electrify Fleet

Merchants, I have also learned is driving fleet electrification. Thereby aiming to have the first 50% of its mobility fleet electric by 2025. Finally and the other remaining 50% of its clients’ fleet electric by 2030. I mean these are some serious goals!

This is all part of its ‘Electrify Fleet’ initiative. All because the company has launched a comprehensive Adopt EV program. I personally this this part is so cool. For it’s a program designed to help guide businesses. That’s through each step of the fleet electrification process.

I mean this includes from assessing needs. Then to purchasing the right vehicles. Finally to charging options and infrastructure support.

Merchants’ Fleet Summit

What’s the special connection. Well I found out that Xos attended the Merchants’ 2021 Fleet Summit in September. One which drew more than 200 fleet experts. I mean from around the country. That’s all to discuss electrification. Most importantly and the future of fleet. Xos step vans were displayed at the event. This is where clients had the opportunity to experience the fully-functional vehicles in person.

About Xos, Inc

Xos, Inc. is an electric truck OEM and Fleet-as-a-Service provider. One that is dedicated to decarbonizing commercial transportation. Xos designs and develops battery-electric trucks. In addition to powertrains and battery systems. All specifically for commercial fleets. The company’s primary focus is on medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles. I mean those that travel on “last mile” routes. In other words, predictable routes that are less than 200 miles per day.

In conclusion, the company leverages its proprietary technologies. All to provide commercial fleets with zero-emission vehicles. Especially that are easier to maintain. As well as more cost-efficient. I mean on a total cost of ownership (TCO) basis. Especially in comparison to internal combustion engine and other commercial EV counterparts.
