The Blueprint, a landmark collaborative effort between the U.S. Department of Transportation, the U.S. Department of Energy.
In addition, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development.
For it outlines a robust strategy for federal leadership to decarbonize the entire U.S. transportation sector. EVNoire looks forward to contributing subject matter expertise. All on the implementation of electrification best practices. Those that will lead to a cleaner, greener future for all.
In addition, The Blueprint’s creation is a notable and exciting step forward.
All in the Biden Administration’s commitment to bring a whole-of-government approach to addressing the climate crisis. Thereby making progress toward reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
In addition, swift transportation electrification on a national scale. For those that will take serious collaboration across agencies. In addition, the Blueprint outlines exactly the framework for these necessary close partnerships.
As Secretary of the Department of Transportation Pete Buttigieg notes, “This Blueprint lays out the actions and innovations needed. Especially for Americans to build a future with affordable, clean vehicles and fuels. That’s for cars, trucks, trains, planes, and ships.”
Legislation
Recent legislation such as the IIJA and the IRA provides transformational amounts of funding for clean multimodal transportation, which will be operationalized by DOE, DOT, EPA, HUD, and the private sector to reimagine our transportation system. The Interagency Blueprint acts as a much-needed roadmap where contributors and stakeholders alike can create and monitor trackable targets. By collaborating on the project, EVNoire will work to ensure that multimodal electric transportation options and their complementary infrastructure are accessible to all communities, particularly those that have been historically impacted first and worst by transportation emissions.
As part of the seven organizations contributing to the roundtable, EVNoire will contribute expertise by utilizing the opportunity to disseminate our thought leadership using data-based analytics, demonstrating the importance of human-centric research within transportation decarbonization strategy
As noted in the Blueprint, “Decarbonizing transportation will affect everyone, and solutions must address the needs of all urban, suburban, and rural communities; businesses of all sizes; and individuals and families at every socioeconomic level.”
Armed with these insights, we will work to create electric, connected, shared, and autonomous mobility solutions that acknowledge historical inequities by correcting them in our current socio-environmental landscape.
Historically, federal automobile infrastructure has perpetuated discriminatory transportation policies such as redlining and the Federal Highway Act of 1956. We still see the effects of these policies decades later. Especially as residents in the affected communities endure worse health outcomes. That’s from over-exposure to emissions and pollution and disruption of habitable space. These issues have disproportionately plagued Black and brown communities for generations. Initiating a multifaceted plan to apply decarbonization best practices. For they will give much-needed attention to communities. Those that have yet to benefit from electrification efforts.
