I started this document in early March, but then I ripped out part of it and posted it on March 10, and this is the remainder. This post will cover a range of subjects related to both electric cars, heavier vehicles and their components.

John, yes the new electric trucks are coming. The new Tesla 4680 cells seem to be the best for any car or truck. The resources are being pushed to provide this great transition. Some are delayed but not for too long.

I'm guessing the first Model Ys delivered with the 4680 cells in structural batteries will be concurrent with the April 7 event at Giga Austin. I would also guess that the cells will still come from the Fremont Kato Rd. facility until Giga Austin's battery production facility is ramped up.

If a manufacturer that primarily makes diesel vehicles doesn't quickly transition to lower greenhouse gas technologies, they are doomed.

Section 5 of this post focused on Cummins, and they clearly understand this. The section in this post outlined their aggressive moves into fuel cells, battery-electric drivetrains, and other technologies that will be required for electric trucking.

Today (3/9/23), I came across the article linked below that outlines how they are continuing this process.
