Kia Electric just dropped a teaser for the new Kia EV9 electric SUV. Moreover, it looks like a larger and more aerodynamic version of the concept car [1]. With a lower ride, a more tapered body, and wide tires. For the EV9 electric SUV will certainly make a statement [2]. If the nomenclature follows a similar pattern to the concepts, the EV9 will be the flagship electric SUV for Kia [3]. This new model is sure to be a game-changer for the electric car market. Especially as it offers an exciting combination of style and performance.

The Kia EV9 teaser video, available to watch at Kia Worldwide YouTube Channel, showcases a silhouette of the flagship SUV model, featuring its prominent front and sleek body surfaces. The striking lighting patterns created by the front and rear lamps complete the EV9’s bold identity.

The video clips also preview the Kia EV9’s unique blend of sleek and sculptural design and confident and assertive geometry. 

This Means Something

The name, EV9, comes from Kia’s EV nomenclature. For that’s pairing the prefix ‘EV’ (electric vehicle) with the number ‘9’ (nine). All which represents the model’s segment among Kia’s dedicated electric vehicle lineup. 

Like the Kia EV6, the Kia EV9 is built upon the company’s dedicated battery electric vehicle platform. The Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).

Kia will also fully reveal both the exterior and interior design in mid-March. Finally, the product information will be fully disclosed. That’s during the Kia EV9 World Premiere in late March.

To spruce up New York City with even more greenery this spring, the New York Restoration Project has partnered with leading online charity auction site, charitybuzz.com, for the first annual Earth Day Auction. The Los Angeles City Council approved moving forward with the Los Angeles Green Business Certification Program. The City of Los Angeles’ initiative, to be administered by the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD), will provide information on how to identify a green business and how businesses can adopt sustainable practices. One of the aims is to enable consumers to support firms that strive to protect the environment. The program was announced at a news conference at Ciudad restaurant. Green Seal, Inc., the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, Green Globe and dineLA, a part of LA INC, The Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau will join the LACCD in its work on this effort.
Joe Veilleux doesn’t view himself as an environmentalist, but he understands how his actions might paint him with that brush. “I’m not an environmentalist,” said Veilleux, general manager of the U.S. operations of natural health ingredient manufacturer Euromed. “I’m a pragmatist. There’s a difference. A lot of environmentalists have characterized their cause as one that pits them directly against corporate America. I’m part of corporate America, but I also recognize the debt I owe to the environment and want to do my fair share to protect it. In the long run, it’s just good for business and there are plenty of examples throughout history of how our environment is one of our most valuable natural resources.” Veilleux’s company is partner with the Everglades Foundation in a campaign dubbed Glade-iator (www.glade-iator.org), which is a model of the public-private partnership Veilleux believes is good for business.
