I recently did a post about two Boston Globe reporters who took a 400-mile road trip to test how convenient it is to drive an EV over that distance. One drove a Telsa and the other a Kia Niro.

Both completed the trip, but the Tesla demonstrated some significant advantages. Specifically more and faster chargers.

Today, Telsa chargers can only be used by Tesla owners. But that’s going to change. The company announced that by the end of 2024 it would make 3,500 new and existing of its Superchargers available to non-Tesla drivers.

Kudos to the Biden Administration for helping to get this done.

Yes Tesla already sgares charging in Europe. They have often offered to share their Super Chargers with any automaker who would share in the cost. They already share theur destination 240 volt chargers at hotels and stores.

This will help more electric vehicles that have a CCS DCFC port. Tesla has about 2,000 US locations , the most of any providers and the lowest cost.
