Geely to license its EV platform to ElectroMobility Poland

Chinese automaker Geely has signed an agreement to license its Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) EV platform to ElectroMobility Poland (EMP), an EV manufacturer backed by the Polish government.

EMP says it plans to use Geely’s SEA to develop several models for its Izera brand, starting with a compact SUV. It has announced plans for two other models, a C-segment station wagon and a hatchback. The first vehicles will be built at its manufacturing plants at Jaworzno in the Silesia region of Poland.

According to Geely, SEA is highly scalable, from A-segment small vehicles to E-segment and larger commercial vehicles. Its wheelbase can be expanded from 1,800 mm to 3,300 mm.

ElectroMobility Poland CEO Piotr Zaremba said Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture “perfectly fits the Izera product concept. Geely is providing EMP with the highest class of industry know-how as well as additional business opportunities. In the long run, this technology partnership will allow EMP to heavily engage local suppliers.”
