EThekwini has developed a Regional Hydrogen Strategy (RHS) to position Durban and Richards Bay as a major producer and consumer of low carbon hydrogen and derivatives. This strategy supports the vision for EThekwini to achieve their climate action targets whilst providing economic benefits. The goal is to outline the infrastructure gaps, opportunities, barriers, mechanisms and potential investment required for the region to successfully establish a future hydrogen economy.

This will contribute to the energy transition across power generation, heating, transport, and industry, improving energy system resilience and increasing consumer choice.  Stay informed:  Hydrogen South Africa
