Was George Best* right?

* I spent a lot on drinks, women and cars. The rest I wasted.

The Brazilian electricity sector could be the "engine" of national competitiveness for a list of productive activities. It could.

Especially considering that the participation of industrial activity in the Brazilian GDP has dropped significantly in recent decades. "Brazil cost", lack of predictability, legal/institutional fragility are the most important factors in this situation.

What is missing to achieve and maintain competitiveness?

In the electricity sector, the main demand would be the elimination of cronyism:

* Privatisation
* Demand response programs
* Reduction of  power theft
* Mitigation of the "duck curve"

Or could it be that, in line with George Best, we should adapt the sentence to "I spent a lot on drinks, women, cars and the electrical sector. The rest I wasted".
