How often do you take shelter in the cool confines of a space with air conditioning to beat the summer heat? Probably, very often. But, you might be surprised to know that air-conditioners don’t have a reputation of being environment friendly.
Air conditioning

A report in The Guardian states that air conditioners in vehicles in the US alone consume around 7 to 10 billion gallons of fuel every year. Moreover, with increasing demands from warmer parts of the world, not good. For global energy consumption for cooling is estimated to grow tenfold by 2050. This could give climate change an extra dose of unwanted momentum. I mean for a possibility that humankind would want to avoid at all costs.

Air Conditioning

So does all of this make the use of air conditioners something of a guilty pleasure? Is it time for us to shun the comfort of air-conditioners entirely and return to a life of hot suffering so that the world can be spared? Not really. Today, many manufacturers are coming up with air conditioners that are more sustainably built. In addition, they are greener than their predecessors.

Here are some things to look for when purchasing an eco-friendly air conditioner.

Correct Size

Using an undersized air conditioner won’t help in cooling the home. All the effort it puts in will only go to waste. In addition and along with the electricity while your electricity bill goes through the roof. The unit will also struggle to strike the right balance between the condensed air and humid. Thereby expended air drawn in from your home.

Compressor

The compressor is what consumes the most electricity inside an air conditioner. These units need extra effort to cool down the refrigerants by squeezing out the contained heat from the vapors. You can program a two-stage compressor to compress less when it is cool and more on hot days, thereby automatically helping to save energy.

Customizations

Manufacturers build certain eco-friendly units to operate at optimum energy levels using two different energy sources for heating and cooling. Every component of the system is customizable, be it the indoor coils or the thermostat. More companies are building air conditioning units to meet the heating and cooling requirements of your individual residential space.

Programmable Thermostat

This type of thermostat is easy to program. You can start automatic cooling when you need it while remaining non-operational at other times. Especially when no one is at home, giving you one less thing to worry about when going out. This is a highly affordable way to go green with an air conditioning unit.

Air Conditioning Maintenance

This point cannot be stressed enough – every air conditioning unit should be inspected and serviced by an air conditioning Sydney professional at least once a year. A professional can check for leaks, proper airflow, and refrigerant pressure. In addition, they may also suggest modifications to help you save more energy and money while running your AC units.

That said, sometimes it is a good idea to take the natural course for cooling off in hot weather. For example, taking a cool shower or simply opening the windows at home. You can also switch on the fans to create airflow. These tips, along with moderate use of energy-efficient AC units are extremely helpful. For they can help you stay on track with your eco-friendly goals.
