The first of the three books in the Dragon Trilogy is about to hit stores locally as well as almost everywhere online. CLIMATE DRAGON should arrive with a splash sometime within the next few wks. The troika of publisher, editor and 'proofer' at my indie publishing house Sidekick Press have been putting in a lot of effort in recent wks—as have I—and the polished document is finally off to the printer. Now I'm concentrating on the next manuscript, CLOUD DRAGON, which I optimistically project will be out by the end of 2024. Making no promises of course. All three books are unicorns, in that they are preapocalyptic and optimistic, unlike many of the entries in the subgenre of climate fiction. The picture is of the final version of the full cover. You can check it out online, or just take my word for it that the paperback version is worth picking up..

I genuinely think if we had more mainstream art dedicated to the reality of the climate crisis that felt less like homework and more like entertainment (in the classic examples the sci-fi has often dealt with existential and philosophical issues) that we'd have even more consensus on what we can and should do to take action. Kudos for leading such a charge!

Hear, hear, Matt. My target reader is someone high school or older, who has at least one science class + one math class under his or her belt, and is curious and worried enough climate—but not interested in opening a textbook. But even sophisticated readers such as the folks at Energy Central might find this an interesting read.
