WAE Technologies develops Elysia battery intelligence software

WAE Technologies has developed a new battery intelligence software platform for the management and optimization of batteries.

Elysia is based on AI, data science and electrochemical modeling. Its embedded and cloud-based products are designed to provide customers—including global automotive OEMs, fleet operators, and battery asset financiers—with battery insights, management, optimization, and performance enhancement across the battery’s entire lifecycle, both in the vehicle and in second-life applications like stationary grid storage.

The Elysia Embedded Platform uses low-cost chips found in mass-market battery management systems to run battery management algorithms. This has demonstrated a 30% increase in battery life and a 10% potential increase in battery range while reducing fast charging speeds and higher peak power output than traditional battery management algorithms, the company said. The Elysia Cloud Platform provides actionable battery information to forecast and prolong battery life, improve safety and safeguard warranty and residual values. The data can enable accurate verification of degradation and in-life fault-finding, offering the potential to improve the second-life battery market.

“Elysia brings a new generation of battery intelligence to a wide range of industries, from the automotive and e-mobility sectors, to stationary energy storage and beyond,” said Joe Jones, Elysia Commercial Lead.
