DNV has revealed it will support National Gas Transmission (NGT) in its FutureGrid project aiming to establish a hydrogen pipeline research facility.

FutureGrid Phase 1 was commissioned in September 2023 and achieved a landmark of operating with 2% hydrogen blended with natural gas, with the work continuing on the aim of blending 100% hydrogen by the end of January 2024.

The projects second phase will ensure the compression, deblending and purification, one of the first steps for NGT towards converting the existing National Transmission System (NTS) to transport hydrogen.
