These are good topics. The affects of Heat and Cold do affect range. The life of batteries is getting better all the time but there are some vehicles without Battery Thermal Control and their batteries get hot and lose capacity 10 times faster than other Electric Vehicles. These are very important points people need to be aware of before they buy.

I've often been tempted to write a paper on which EVs use active thermal control, but it would take a huge amount of work. Most potential buyers are not sufficiently technically knowledgeable to this relate this application to range, etc. and thus few EV makers (even the ones that have it), don't push information out about it. However, I believe that most EV's will eventually have battery thermal control.
