PUC Releases 2022 Sustainability Report

The report provides an overview of PUC's activities in 2022, highlighting stories of sustainability that include:

• The Sault Smart Grid (SSG), the first community-wide smart grid in Canada that will result in shorter outages impacting fewer customers, energy savings of 2.7% on average and reduced C02 emissions.
• PUC Transmission LP, a newly formed transmission company that will supply electricity to Algoma Steel's transformative electric arc furnace (EAF) project.
• Sault Ste. Marie's streetlight upgrade to LED that has resulted in millions of dollars in savings and reduced C02 emissions.
• PUC's Electric Vehicle Strategy that includes an EV Home Charger program and the electrification of PUC's fleet.
