The Zero Out Of Pocket Emission Reduction Plan
Local law 97 for New York City is causing much concern for building owners there. The law is well founded beause "New York City’s one million buildings account for nearly two-thirds of the city’s carbon emissions. The Climate Mobilization Act of 2019 included Local Law 97 (LL97), which sets increasingly stringent caps on greenhouse gas emissions from the city’s largest buildings starting in 2024. Most buildings over 25,000 square feet will be subject to LL97, and buildings that exceed their annual emissions limits will face financial penalties." These building owners can pay a fine or pay to reduce their emissions. New York state is not running far behind -The Climate Action Council, a state body, passed its final scoping plan to reduce the state’s greenhouse gas emissions by 85% by 2050, compared to 1990 levels, with carbon offsets — all while setting benefits toward communities most vulnerable to climate change. These goals were mandated under the 2019 Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act. Since New York City and the state are falling further and further behind emission reduction goals, these action are becomming critical and could lead to show the path to better results in other states and countries. After much evaluataion and planning, the Conservation Tecnology Group (CTG) an association of global efficiency product providers has developed the Self Sustaining Emission Reduction Plan which will enable New York City, state, and other building and structure owners to have their own zero out of pocket emission elinimation plan! Energy Efficiency Done Right, DabX Demand Side Solutions, Exquite Heat, and Coil Pod combine enveloping and energy demand reduction technologies to create customized programs wherein building equity can be utilized to provide programs wherein the monthly energy savings will be greater than the amortized cost of the energy demand/emission reduction upgrades! This programs will work with commercial, governmental, institutional, and multi-family building and structures. The best thing about this program is the payback will be under ten years and then the savings can be used to fund another energy demand or renewable project! Another great benefits is the CTG technologies are ESG superstars! These technologies will improve staff comfort levels, have unequaled long term enviromental benefits, and can be a core element of a true zero energy comsumption company or governmental plan! There are long term benefit technologies that reduce glazing and roofing heat gain and loss, heating and cooling consumption, and better cooling equipment performance. These are proven technologies and can be used very effectively individually, in sequence, or combined. Each building or structure will be carfully evaluated and a program will be created to be certain that we create a truly self funding energy demand/emission reduction program. DabX Demand Side Solutions and Energy Efficiency Done Right and their representatives will be taking the lead with this innovative program and will be happy to answer questions or customize a program. Again this can be done in steps over time but will always be designed to self fund. Compliance to LL97 and other programs has now become less painfull and more beneficial!
