The Swiss firm Galliker Transport is now delivering new cars using an all-electric car transporter. The massive electric semi-truck was jointly developed by Futuricum, a division of Swiss e-mobility specialist Designwerk Group, and the German body manufacturer Kässbohrer.

The Futuricum 26E transporter has a total power output of 680 hp and a range of 450 km. It’s powered by four modular battery packs with a total capacity of 900 kWh. It supports both AC and DC charging at power levels up to 350 kW. Not only is the powertrain all-electric, but so is Kässbohrer’s two-level body.

For the new e-truck’s debut drive, Galliker’s Chairman of the Board, Rolf Galliker, took the wheel himself, and delivered seven new Volvo v C40 Recharge and XC40 Recharge EVs.

Herr Galliker commented on the aptness of delivering EVs using an EV. “Volvo Cars has been a very good customer and partner of ours for decades [and] this manufacturer is consistently focusing on the map of alternative drives and wants to completely dispense with the combustion engine from 2030.”

“We believe in sustainable and electrified mobility, and are therefore all the more pleased when not only our vehicles are fully electric, but also delivered to our [customers] with an e-car transporter,” added Natalie Robyn, Managing Director of Volvo Cars Switzerland. “This brings us a big step closer to our goal of reducing CO₂ emissions in the supply chain, manufacturing and logistics by 25 percent by 2025.”
