Presenting company track #1 on day 1 of the 2020 CleanTech Innovation Showcase featured three presenters: Focal Technologies, BlueDot Photonics, and Ecellix.

Eric Steinmeyer of Focal Technologies presented first and talked about their solar remediation technology. Focal Technologies’ Ray System can be used to breakdown organics, convert urea to ammonia, isolate nitrates and reduce chemical and biological oxygen demand, and can sterilize 99.8% of E-coli. Their system is the highest efficiency solar collection device produced to date and has multiple potential applications.

Next, Jared Silvia from BluDot Photonics presented on how they plan to accelerate the deployment of next generation solar technology by developing simple, cost-effective solutions to improve solar panel performance and durability. BlueDot is finding new ways to harvest, manipulate, and transform light using unique materials and simple manufacturing techniques. BlueDot Photonics is a graduate of the Cascadia CleanTech Accelerator program. For more information on the program, click here.

The final presenters were Jerry Schwartz and Geoff Deane from Ecellix. Ecellix is creating ultra-high capacity anode materials for next generation lithium-ion batteries. Their technology offers up to 500% improved anode capacity and retains an 80% capacity after over 500 charge and discharge cycles. Ecellix recently won the prestigious Global Innovation Award and their groundbreaking research is reimagining the future of batteries.
