After the LMPH2G and the H24, MissionH24, a collaborative project between the Automobile Club de l’Ouest and H24Project, presents this October 11, 2023 a brand new electric-hydrogen prototype.

This brand new, sleeker hydrogen electric prototype displays very different ambitions. After introducing hydrogen on the track, MissionH24 is now introducing hydrogen in competition, for a race with zero CO2 emissions.

With the support of its partners, TotalEnergies, Michelin, Symbio, Plastic Omnium, Richard Mille, Dietsmann and Essilor, discover the new MissionH24 prototype.

The Automobile Club de l’Ouest, organizer of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, has since its inception in 1906 been a player in mobility for all. Safety, performance, comfort, energy consumption… are the essential and crucial themes to which ACO and its legendary race have contributed, accelerating dedicated research.

Now that the energy transition has become fundamental, ACO has been committed for several years to decarbonizing the race and finding new energy solutions. In 2018, together with GreenGT (now H24Project), MissionH24 was officially introduced, a collaborative program for the deployment of hydrogen in competition.

The goal is clear: by 2026, the creation of a category dedicated to hydrogen in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship. Partners joining this program include TotalEnergies, Michelin, Symbio, Plastic Omnium, Richard Mille, Dietsmann, and Essilor.

MISSIONH24, EPISODE 3

Missionh24 Unveils A Brand New Electric hydrogen PrototypeAfter the LMPH2G, and then the H24, the MissionH24 racing team unveiled on October 11, a brand-new electric hydrogen prototype, with very different ambitions. The third phase of the mission has been launched.

After the essential stages of research, development, verification, and reliability of this unique Power Unit (hydrogen fuel cell system, tanks, electric motors, battery…) with laboratory cars, it’s now time for performance with a race car ready to compete with other energies on the track!
