Reliance Industries Ltd, a major conglomerate based in India, is set to revolutionize its logistics operations by converting approximately 5,000 of its existing trucks from internal combustion engines (ICE) to run on green hydrogen by the middle of 2024. A significant milestone in this green transformation is the successful dispensation of nearly 6,000 kilograms of hydrogen from the company’s Jamnagar facility, where these trucks are undergoing rigorous advanced trials. A senior official from Reliance Industries shared with Autocar Professional the promising results of these trials, noting an impressive near-zero downtime and a finding that hydrogen ICE-powered trucks are three times more efficient than their diesel counterparts.
