The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) launches the Hydrogen Propulsion Manufacturing Taskforce.
- The Department for Business and Trade has launched the first meeting of the Hydrogen Propulsion Manufacturing Taskforce.
- The Taskforce will be led by Steve Scrimshaw, former CEO of Siemens Energy.
- Today (27 March) the Hydrogen Propulsion Manufacturing Taskforce had its inaugural meeting.
As part of the Advanced Manufacturing Plan announced in November, the government announced the industry taskforce to maximise investment opportunities for the UK manufacturing of hydrogen propulsion systems.
The Hydrogen Propulsion Manufacturing Taskforce will identify the size of the opportunity to invest in the UK design and development of hydrogen propulsion technologies across land, maritime, and air transport and also identify synergies with hydrogen manufacturing in other sectors, building a comprehensive investment proposition to provide a clear signal to markets.
Delivered in partnership with the Hydrogen Innovation Initiative and Innovate UK, the group will publish its recommendations to Government in 2024.
