On-street EV charger manufacturer Trojan Energy, based in Aberdeen, Scotland, has secured £26 million in investments to facilitate its growth plans—£8 million from UK growth capital investor BGF and £18 million from the Scottish National Investment Bank.

Trojan Energy, which manufactures its units in Aberdeen, currently has 600 on-street charge points in operation in the UK. The chargers sit flat and flush with the pavement and offer charging speeds of up to 22 kW. The company will use the new funding to supply increasing numbers across the country, including around 1,300 to be installed in Barnet in partnership with the London borough’s council. England’s Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) fund also presents the company with expansion opportunities.

“This funding will allow Trojan Energy to deploy several thousand more charging points across the UK, serving tens of thousands of customers, continuing our work as a ‘clutter free’ on-street charging solution,” said Trojan Energy’s CEO Ian Mackenzie.
