Ola Electric runs a major ride-hailing platform that operates on 3 continents, and it will soon be manufacturing 2-wheeled EVs at its Futurefactory in Tamil Nadu, India.

Now the company has revealed plans to provide charging for its upcoming Ola Scooter and other vehicles through the new Ola Hypercharger Network.

Ola says its Hypercharger Network will be “the widest and densest electric two-wheeler charging network in the world, with more than 100,000 charging points across 400 cities. In the first year alone, Ola is setting up over 5,000 charging points across 100 cities in India.”

Ola’s Hypercharger is designed to offer fast and seamless charging. The Ola Scooter can be charged to 75 km of range in 18 minutes. Customers can initiate charging simply by plugging in their scooters, and can monitor and pay for charging using the Ola Electric app.

Ola Hyperchargers will be deployed in city centers and dense business districts, and at malls, IT parks, office complexes and cafés.

“Electric is the future of mobility, and we are reimagining the entire user experience of owning an electric vehicle,” said Ola Chairman and Group CEO Bhavish Aggarwal. “Our plans to build a comprehensive charging network is a key piece of this. By creating the world’s largest and densest 2-wheeler charging network, we will dramatically accelerate the customer adoption of electric vehicles and rapidly move the industry to electric.”
