Sydney– Australian clean energy company Pure Hydrogen Corporation Limited (ASX: PH2, ‘Pure Hydrogen’) is pleased to announce its majority-owned subsidiary, Hdrive International (‘Hdrive’), has secured a purchase order from a North American dealership for hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (HFCEVs). The deal, valued at approximately US$1.22 million, involves supplying a 6×4 50T Class 8 prime mover truck and a 54-seater coach, both subject to conditions precedent.

The purchaser, California-based Nutcher Hydrogen, specializes in sustainable heavy fleet machinery and equipment for heavy transport customers. The vehicles are scheduled for delivery in the first half of the calendar year 2024 and will serve as demonstration models for Nutcher Hydrogen. This order marks Hdrive’s first venture into the North American market, representing a significant opportunity to penetrate one of the world’s largest addressable markets.

The vehicles, custom-designed to meet United States Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, reflect a significant expansion opportunity for Hdrive. Compliance testing will be completed before delivery, and the order is conditional on finalizing the vehicle specifications to U.S. standards, homologation timeframes, and acceptance at the final inspection.

This North American order follows robust interest from Australian companies, including multinational brands. Pure Hydrogen has been focusing on its go-to-market strategy, seeing considerable potential for global expansion in supplying HFCEV technology.

As a pioneer in the global market for Hydrogen Fuel Cell (HFC) technology in heavy vehicle industries, Pure Hydrogen continues to attract international attention. The company is advancing its intellectual property in manufacturing and assembling HFC vehicles, pursuing opportunities across global markets.

Scott Brown, Managing Director of Pure Hydrogen, commented, “This order reinforces our belief in a substantial global market for clean Hydrogen Fuel Cell technology. We are proud to build U.S.-compliant hydrogen fuel cell prime movers and coaches for Nutcher Hydrogen, a respected dealer of innovative hydrogen electric technology. Our Hdrive products feature top-quality components from leading global suppliers, underpinning the Australian-designed Prime Mover Truck and Bus.”

Bob Nutcher, Managing Director of Nutcher Hydrogen, expressed his excitement about the partnership with Hdrive International. He highlighted the challenges heavy transport faces with electrification, particularly in California, due to battery weight impacting vehicle payload. Nutcher H2 is focusing on decarbonizing the transport network and sees the Hdrive vehicles as a crucial step towards a zero-emission transport future in the U.S., emphasizing the importance of embracing and developing hydrogen technology and related infrastructure.
