In an unprecedented move, HysetCo, a European leader in hydrogen mobility, announces it has ordered 150 Peugeot e-Expert Hydrogen light commercial vehicles from Stellantis. This order marks a first of its scale and will allow for the expansion of the hydrogen utility segment and significantly increase HysetCo’s hydrogen vehicle fleet, which is expected to more than double in 2024.

The 150 hydrogen utility vehicles will be deployed from February 2024 and will all be put into circulation during the first half of 2024. They will be offered to professionals as part of HysetCo’s packaged offer, which includes all associated services (maintenance, repair, insurance, relay vehicles, administrative formalities, training, etc.), and will be specifically fitted for people transport (wheelchair-accessible taxis, shuttles, etc.), logistics, or other professional uses (utilities).

This deployment will thus constitute the largest fleet of hydrogen light commercial vehicles for such uses. With this order, HysetCo confirms its strong growth and significantly increases the number of zero-emission hydrogen vehicles in its fleet, a figure that is still expected to rise, with HysetCo planning to at least double its fleet of hydrogen vehicles in 2024.

“This major order is another important step in the development of our hydrogen vehicle fleet, which we intend to at least double in 2024. It also allows us to continue the deployment of our unique hydrogen mobility offer to facilitate the transition of new clients and new uses towards sustainable, accessible, and concrete mobility,” explains Loïc Voisin, president of HysetCo.

With this order, HysetCo strengthens its role as a pioneer and major player in hydrogen mobility and its driving role in the adoption of this clean and sustainable technology on a large scale. Finally, it allows the startup to fulfill its commitments to reducing pollution and promoting environmentally friendly and accessible mobility.

As the leader in light commercial vehicles in Europe with more than 40% of the electric market share, Stellantis is the first automobile manufacturer in the world to market a range of light commercial vehicles powered by hydrogen. The offer, intended for intensive use, will be deployed by the brands Peugeot, Citroën, Opel, Vauxhall, and Fiat Professional, and now covers mid-size vans and large vans.

“Hydrogen, which is at the heart of Stellantis’ light commercial vehicles’ electrification strategy, contributes to the ambition of achieving carbon neutrality by 2038. We are the first manufacturer in the world to market a range of hydrogen electric vehicles covering 2 segments. This is to support our professional clients like HysetCo in their energy transition by offering them a solution complementary to electric adapted to their uses,” said Xavier Peugeot, director of the Stellantis Pro One Business Unit.
